Insecurity worsen in Ekiti state, as their as been high rate of reported cases of kidnapping in the state. On Friday 15th of may, three women were kidnapped along with their husbands and children in igbole Ekiti, when they were embarking on a journey to Ibadan, for a wedding ceremony. The kidnappers thereafter freed the husband and children and took away the three women, after collecting their mobiles.
The Ekiti state governor, Peter Ayodele Fayose, who showed concern about the increased kidnapping rate, said he has written the inspector general of police Mr Solomon Arase; thereby calling for his intervention.
In the last two weeks, their as been a reported case of the kidnapping of Mrs. Margret Aladeneka, a nurse with the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido, Dr. Femi Omisore, a lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife and former Chief Medical Director of the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital
(EKSUTH), Dr. Patrick Adegun and his wife, Kikelomo, who are yet to be found.
Ekiti based industrialist, Moses Ajogri, was on Thursday 13th of may released by his abductors.
